Hi, Hope here!
We're on the move! My family is moving to England and we've never even lived outside North Carolina! We are both sad and happy to move. We are sad to leave some of our stuff behind, but happy to find a new place that we know we will love. The hardest part will be saying goodbye to all our friends, but we know we will make new friends and keep in contact with the old ones. We are taking our English Springer Spaniel, Eiffel. She's never been out of the country.
We are moving to have a fun adventure and because Daddy is going to earn his master's degree at The University of Reading in England. Connor and I will go to public school, where I will be in Year Four and Connor in Year Three. The exact school won't be known until our housing is set, but there may be a pool. Our house can't be set until our visas come through in a few weeks or so. For sure, our house will NOT be as big. It will be much, much smaller!!! I will love our new home wherever we are! The important part of a home is that it is with your family.
My favorite part about my room in the new house will be my bed. Mommy will help me print pictures and hang them in my new room. If I get to share a room, Connor and I might have bunk beds.
I have two pen pals named Ella and Sophie. They live near where we will live and are nine years old. Since they are in the grade I will be next year, they have been helpful to me. They tell me all about schools, friends, activities for kids, holidays, foods, toys, and anything else that is helpful for me to know.
We are all excited about our big adventure, which my parents say it is their midlife crisis. We will keep this blog updated to stay in contact with our friends. Check back often to see how it's going. There will certainly be bumps along the road, but we know that our lives will be positively impacted! Plan to come see us!
Love,
Hopie, Soon-to-be-Expat!
