Housing secured....finally!

As we began our journey to moving abroad, a daunting task by any standards, it seemed everything fell easily into place:  my colleague offered to pick up my workload and our house rented quickly.

Everything, that is, except finding housing in Reading.  With no buyers agents, one must go to each of dozens of real estate agencies and they are only willing to show you properties listed for rent with their agency.  In a crowded housing market, 'picky' Americans aren't the first choice...especially when one has a dog, needs a great school catchment, wants to be close to university, not on the ground for showings and is slow to respond given the time delay.  Anyway, the search went on and on...much longer than we would have liked.

However, we are happy to report that housing is finally secured and we have a new place to call 'home'.  With three bedrooms, a full size fridge, AND a washer, we are delighted.  Most importantly, Eiffel will be allowed!

Many, many thanks to our friends Paul & Kristen who helped by viewing properties on our behalf- we couldn't have done it without them!
